originally from hampton, va and currently residing in washington, dc, amirio freeman (ig: @amiriofreeman; twitter: @ecogoon) is a black, queer “rootworker”—not in the sense of one who practices afro-diasporic folk healing magic*, but in the sense of one who resurrects roots, facilitates remembrances, and exhumes forgotten narratives, especially those related to race and space. their “rootwork” is performed via art, technology, and advocacy.

their writing has been featured by drøme magazine, argot magazinephiladelphia printworks, and off tha record.

*this is still a work in progress.
